Aims of the Service -
- To provide a user-friendly Service for people experiencing / recovering from mental ill-health, living in the community.
- To help to overcome the isolating effects of poverty and illness; and encourage improved integration within the community, therefore promoting social inclusion.
The Service provides information, advice and, where appropriate, representation on - money management, debt related problems social security and housing related issues, particularly through completing Benefit Application Forms and responding to court documents in debt cases. Service clients are also "signposted" to other Services where appropriate. This Service is run in partnership with the Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) Stirling.
How to be Referred -
A Referral System is in operation. The person requesting this Service and the referring agency are encouraged to jointly complete and sign the Referral Form for the Money & Benefits Service to begin to process the referral.
Referrals are taken from Psychiatrists, Hospital staff, Social Workers, CPNs, Key workers, GPs etc.
Criteria for Referral -
The Service is for adults between 18 – 65 years of age, experiencing mental ill - health, living within the Stirling Council area. The person must have contact with Psychiatric Services at the point of referral and meet the Referral Criteria.
