SDAMH Extension to premises, Autumn 2007
SDAMH has been very fortunate in this year. Thanks to funding from The Big Lottery, NHS Forth Valley, The Robertson Trust, Awards for All and The Tudor Trust, we have been able to extend our existing building in the Riverside area of Stirling.
This has created more space for activities, a room downstairs for people with physical disabilities to access counselling, an office which no longer needs 'sky hooks' to accommodate staff and overall the building is more versatile and attractive to access.
We also have the added advantage of a new decking area outside, which will be very attractive to use in the better weather.
Clients of the Services at SDAMH have also created an art work – a triptych, 3 wall hangings which are colourful and hang in the new lounge in the extension. Our thanks to all concerned for their artistic input.
SDAMH Home Support Service Care Commission Inspection Reports
The Home Support Service is a client centred Service for people when their health and wellbeing is significantly affected by mental ill health. The Home Support Service provides practical, emotional and social support for people within their own home, homeless accommodation or community setting in Stirling District.
The support is provided in a flexible, client-centred way, appropriate to individual lifestyle, culture, age and need. The Service is delivered via home visits and one to one support, but there is the option of facilitating support meetings in the local community and initial supported attendance to specific groups
On a regular basis the Service is inspected by the Care Commission Scotland, whose role it is to ensure that Services provided through care in the community meet a set of standards which evidences good quality service provision.
Over the 2 past years SDAMH Home Support Service has also been inspected by one of the Care Commissioners – Tony Clark. These Reports make interesting reading and for SDAMH have ensured that we continue to work to our goals.
